an afternoon

a long nap

makes for a happy babe, content to chew on hands.

a little time freed up,

hairs can be cut.

one wants to look like his dad.

the other wants to look like his brother.

(mama wonders if she’ll ever see, again, the blond locks that are falling to the floor.  she feels a bit wistful.)

in the end they want to look like each other.

except for the stripes on the socks.  the details are important to the tall one.

i am full.
