When E-man awoke today he asked, “Is it going to be sunny today?  It seems so long since we’ve seen the sun.”  And indeed it was sunny.  A perfect sunny spring day, with the neighborhood teenagers all in deep, spring-clean mode before they head home for a month.  The walls were shaking as their music was thumping.  We headed out to the forest to experience a quieter spring,  and we were rewarded with:

Our first sighting of the brave and delicate pasque flower. We’ve been looking for weeks.

And the first bits of green on the wax currant, which is everywhere around these parts.

I am recording some of our seasonal observations over at Project Budburst, where compiled data from folks all over the country will be used to track climate change.
