We are settled. We have been settled for quite some time. As a matter of fact, we have been settled since we woke up to this gorgeous view of Long’s Peak out our window the morning after our arrival. Estes Park is like a brand new pair of shoes that feel all worn in and comfy.
With new places and new routines come new rituals. I love rituals. They make me feel cozy, peaceful, grounded. For the next few posts, I’ll let you dear ones, who are far from us, get a glimpse of our new daily celebrations.
ONE: Family Fun Night
Yup, it is just as dorky as it sounds. A night to do silly things, that aren’t really entirely in my nature, but when you live in a tiny town with Go Karts, Bumper Cars, Giant Slides, Bowling and Minature Golf on every corner, you just have to incorporate such silliness into your daily life! And they boys, they are ALL ABOUT Family Fun Night.
This evening, we played miniature golf. As we were pulling out of the parking lot the boys were already planning the next Family Fun Night. I think I’ll write that a few more times: Family Fun Night, Family Fun Night, Family Fun Night. It is just dorky enough to merit an intentional misspelling, like Family Fun Nite. Yes, that seems right. Family Fun Nite it is!
